Description
The Panjakavya lamp is made from milk, curd, ghee, cow urine, and cow dung. The lamp should be placed above the mud lamp and fill the panchakavya lamp with ghee Or sesame oil and use natural or cotton wick.
Once the lamp is lit, it should not be extinguished until it has completely burned down to ashes. By allowing the lamp and the Panjakavya mixture to burn completely, it is said to purify the home akin to performing a yagna (sacred fire ritual). After the lamp has burned and turned to ashes, these ashes applied to the forehead. This practice is believed to remove negative planetary influences (Navagraha dosha) and bring prosperity and well-being to the family.
